RECITALS & OHIO MUSIC FEDERATION OF MUSIC CLUBS! (OFMC)

Each year, we celebrate as a Piano Family through recitals, providing students with an opportunity to support one another and enjoy hearing their peers perform. These recitals help build students' confidence in their musical abilities and their comfort with public performance. It is not uncommon for my students to eagerly anticipate upcoming recitals or express excitement about performing pieces they’ve seen others play.

Students will have the opportunity to perform for the Ohio Federation of Music Clubs (OFMC), an organization dedicated to advancing music education and promoting the creative and performing arts in Ohio. The OFMC’s mission is to foster the development of music and musicians in the state through a variety of initiatives. Below is an overview of their goals:

• Focus on Music Education and the Arts: The OFMC’s primary mission is to support and enhance music education and the broader arts community across Ohio.
   
• Advancing Music and Musicians: The organization aims to promote the growth and recognition of musicians, providing valuable opportunities for development.
   
• Scholarships and Festivals: The OFMC offers scholarship opportunities and organizes local and state music festivals, offering platforms for musicians to showcase their talents.
   
• District Honors Recitals: The OFMC also hosts District Honors Recitals, providing an additional opportunity for musicians to perform and receive recognition for their achievements.
   
• Bringing Ohio Musicians Together: The OFMC works to unite musicians and foster music education and appreciation throughout Ohio.
